"Teamwork makes the dream work"; it may sound cliché, but it really does! We are fortunate to have an incredible team here at Oncology Imaging Systems, a group that gets on so well and works incredibly hard, day in and day out. If the past few years have taught us anything, it's the importance of employee wellbeing. It was fantastic to spend a day with the team, let our hair down and celebrate our awesomeness.
As part of our team day out, we participated in some fun (and slightly competitive) activities, supplied by The Wright Event Company who specialise in organising team-building events across London and the South East. The day was a huge success and we created some brilliant shared memories.
Before getting stuck in with any activities, we started the day with brunch at a local cafe. The whole team gathered at Buxted Park Hotel, a fabulous Grade II listed Palladian mansion in East Sussex with beautiful gardens and stunning countryside views. The venue is local to us and is where our field team, suppliers and visitors stay when they visit our headquarters. We last held a team day at Buxted Park Hotel in 2019 to celebrate 20 years of OIS, and we loved it so much that we wanted to come back to do it all over again.
First up, we donned our bows and arrows for archery. We were split into two groups to ensure everybody enjoyed as much time participating as possible, and to introduce a bit of healthy competition! We had full tuition and coaching throughout and surprised ourselves with how well we all did. Everyone enjoyed participating, but a special mention goes to Mike, who got the highest score.
Next up, it was time for a treasure hunt! Designed to ensure that participants work together to solve a series of cryptic and observational challenges but also provide the opportunity to discover intriguing parts of the area that can be easily overlooked. We had an absolute blast taking part in this challenge (even in the humidity), which had us searching all around the hotel's grounds to solve pictorial clues and anagrams. One anagram was based on one of our team members' names - most of us struggled to get this, but Steve came through for his team and solved it instantly. Can you guess the correct name for this anagram: "rename jobs"?
It was a close call for the winning team, who won by just a 0.2 point difference over the course of the afternoon. A huge thanks to the Wright Event Company for such well-organised and fun activities.
After a quick break (and a drink!) we played some lawn games - Jenga, Hoopla and (err, improvised) Croquet which entertained everyone until the sunset. We finished the day with a lovely BBQ and some board games whilst enjoying the beautiful grounds and the gorgeous weather; it was the perfect ending to a fabulous day, with lots of leftover food for the following day.
